A quick glance at passengers on the Metro during the morning commute reveals many blank stares, newspaper reading…and lots of dozing. Not to mention very little conversation. On the other hand, the evening commute home reveals…well, many blank stares, newspaper reading, and some dozing. The only difference is that tourists usually take up more space later in the day, and they tend to be chatty when they’re not studying the system maps.

And how many times have you heard someone on the Metro confuse the Capitol and the White House?
