It’s true that driving through the Blue Ridge or taking a trip to New England to see fall foliage can be a spectacular experience. But if those and other prime locations are far away and you can’t get out there, it doesn’t mean you won’t find spectacular views close to home. Just find a bunch of colorful maples or oaks together, and watch the sun shine through them.

  1. While I did travel some this year, like you, I find a walk around my home town just as exciting and photographically satisfying. I like to look for how light can frame subjects like this.

    BTW, I spent a few days in Washington, DC, this summer and came back with some great photos like this…
